Cirad researcher shows that scientific excellence can be put at the service of development.

The work of Jeremy Bouyer, Cirad researcher and technical advisor in Addis to the PATTEC program led by the African Union to combat the tsetse fly in Africa, was rewarded in 2015 by a Consolidator Grant of the European Council of Research (ERC) through a highly selective process.

This grant recognizes excellence in European research.

It is a great pride that one of us is recognized at the continental level in researches that combine scientific excellence and finalization, production of knowledge at the service of the action.  As the number of researchers who have resolutely chosen to meet this double requirement, Jeremy demonstrates brilliantly, that science and conscience, excellence and commitment, are not incompatible, quite the contrary.
